How lending works between players — what a deposit earns, what a loan costs, and what a default actually takes from you.
A bank in WoA is not a system feature — it is a company that holds a banking licence. The gold it lends is somebody's, and the interest it pays is somebody's too. No coin is created anywhere in this: interest is money moving between players, never money appearing.
Deposits
You place gold with a bank and it earns at the rate that bank posts. The rate is the bank's own decision inside the bounds the world allows — so banks compete, and shopping around is a real thing to do. A bank can also cap how much it will take, or stop accepting entirely.
Loans
A loan is over-collateralised in gold: you post more than you borrow, and the collateral sits aside for the life of the loan. Interest accrues by the clock rather than in steps, so repaying early genuinely costs less.
- Lenders post standing offers; you take the one you like at the price the board showed you.
- How much you may owe at once is bounded by your trust tier — it rises as your account establishes itself.
- Only the borrower can repay. Repayment settles principal and interest together.
What a default takes
If a loan runs past due and is not repaid, **only the posted collateral moves to the lender**. Nothing else is touched — not your land, not your company, not your goods. There is no punitive fine on top and no seizure of anything you built.
